Monthly assessment - Jan 2008
1 month of unemployment has passed since the new year has started. AND it feels bad. Like you're this ÖûÃ×´ó³æ (zhu4 mi3 da4 chong2) who just keeps eating and eating without any contribution.
So when Ji offered me the job, I took it up without much consideration. Not to say I blame you ji, but its in woodlands. And fanella or mf would have been more convenient to do it. Anyway, I'll do it for a month, then maybe I'll try to push it off, before my dad kills me and starts charging me for his petrol consumption.
I think they're really nice kids, really. But. Distance lah. haiz. So troublesome to find a job. One that won't end me up 20km away from home.
And CNY is coming. That's sad. Very sad. Apart from the red packets of course. Rest of it just sucks lah.
Our lontong caterer injured her hand, so we have to settle our curry and sambal ourselves. On top of the usual luohanzhai, kuei pie ti, zhai bee hoon etc. Not too mention that dust has already accumulated on the first round of spring-cleaned items. Oh and we're expecting like around FORTY guests on just the 1st day.
Been to two concerts within this month, mus art and the korean vocal concert.
Mus art was rather interesting, had some nice pieces like pagan dances which sound familiar, I think its the techniques used in the composition. Internal combustion was just nostalgic, but they sounded different from ours, especially in the dixieland part. Riverdance was nice as well. And of course that encore with the brilliant flute solo, though I think she was drowned out at times, despite the microphone.
Then yesterday's korean concert. Wow. Eye opener. I mean the human voice is one which is natural and powerful. But I felt in some of the duets, they tried to drown out each other, so you can't hear the moving parts beneath the lady holding on to the high long note. But Ji's voice so melodious! (no I'm not feeding your ego). And it was great catching up with karin, been like 2 years since I've seen her. And yet another Æú°µÍ¶Ã÷ (qi4 an4 tou2 ming2) soul, who decides to forgo science and go for arts. :)
