2 days of sinful torture. Sinful cos of all the binging of CNY goodies and torture because of the straining of facial muscles. First day all my mum's cousins came over. It was bad. Really BAD. First we had a huge shock when thesambal turned out watery. That happened when I was chopping eggs and chillies behind the kitchen. So my bro came to the rescue and tried to save the pot of sambal. Then later on when my uncle tested the prawns, turned out it was powdery. Because we didn't have space in the fridge, the prawns all went bad. So we had 4kg of uneaten powdery prawns thrown. After I finished my work in the kitchen, I became my granny's PA (Personal Assistant). So any angpow given to her is promptly collected by yours truly and swiftly placed in her handbag lest she misplaces it. Oh and oranges are also collected by me and placed in bags situated beside her majesty's throne. Then after I went behind for a quite bite, I came back into the living room, braving the dangers of being trodded on by giant adults, only to realise my seat has been usurped. So I had to squeeze in and sit in front of my granny instead. And the cousins moved in to watch ratatouile, but the damned dvd player screwed up. And it was really malu, because my dad thrusted the remote control at me and expect me to work wonders with it. Do I look like I can? In front of a whole coffee-table full of cousins and nephews. Bah. So I had to lamely say Sorry. I think the electrical appliances here like to break down during festive seasons. Ha. Ha. Second day wasn't that bad, cos only my dad's relatives. And much much, less people. There was the ultra cute nephew Gareth, who demanded every single person's attention though, so it was enjoyable, to a certain extent. Next year, I should be up there, playing with Gareth, instead of allowing my bro the chance to do so and miss all the socialising downstairs. Haha. Then we had kai nian fan, which was pen cai from some hotel. It was delicious! Especially all the goodies in there, hoi sum, abalone, prawns (firm and fresh ones), hao see (dried oyster), etc etc. Really really nice. And me, my bro and my mum shared a can of swedish pear cider. It tasted great. But me and my mum were transformed into red lobsters. And I fell asleep like at 8.30. Alcohol is great for me for insommia I suppose. Third day was only yi po and tsiu gong. 4 ppl only lah, so it was a breeze. Then I just went to get my new phone, k770i, which was free with my singtel iOne Student plan. :D Some boasting Its quite slim really, but no more toggle lah, which means I have to readjust now. Mine is the beige colour one (actually I think its more of white), since that was the only colour left in stock at West Mall Hello store... OH, and I wonder if its a coincidence that I'd meet someone from SMSS whenever I go Westmall. 2 years back, I went to the very same Hello store there, to do the very same thing (change plan and phone) and I bumped into Ms Lee KH outside Mos burger. Today, I bumped into Mdm Yeo within Hello store, doing the very same thing (changing plan and phone). Haha. So qiao right!! And she was with her 2 daughters and husband. Something with West Mall's hello store and me bumping into past teachers. Oh and Mdm Yeo looked very young w/o her specs. haha.
